"There's an ocean between us...between me and the rest of you."
-Burt Lancaster

It's funny when I look back to learn that this song by Huey Lewis & The News called 'The Power Of Love' was the number ONE hit song during the period of August 18-31, 1985. It goes well as a theme tune for my current 'Twenty-five years ago' transcribing. Listen:

Dad liked his birthday present but when I went over there after work I wasn’t too pleased when he pulled out an I.O.U. for last months’ utilities.
Dale and I enjoyed lunch today at Wendy’s.
I went to Video Concepts and bought a top-of-the-line Fisher VCR. I may return the HITACHI for another Fisher. Dale’s going to help me put it all together tonight (Friday) or tomorrow (Saturday).
Carl Brooks played RD man at the office today. He was somewhat of a jerk. I may—or may not—forgive him. The power trip went a little too much to his head.
I did not speak to Rachelle at all today.
Mike Miller telephoned.
“Hi Mike. Yeah, Greg told me he wasn’t moving in.”
“That’s news to me,” I replied, “but it’s not a big loss…I guess.”
I feel I should get a roommate though. If anything I need a roommate because of the extravagant items I’ve been buying lately (TV, two VCR’s, one trip to Paris). It all adds up. It’s a good thing I’ve got my new five-thousand dollar GOLD MasterCard credit line. And to think I was approved by CHASE MANHATTAN Bank for another $5000. I need to focus on investing at some point.
Mom’s such a sweetheart to buy the Hawaiian punch for me tomorrow (for the Business Office festivities). I borrowed Sherri’s electric frying pan, too. I hope we make out monetarily tomorrow as we need the funds for our office Christmas Cruise.
"We must be thankful for what blessings we have."
